Robert William Dauncey

Robert Dauncey was born on 20 June 1918 and enrolled at the School on 17 September 1930.

During World War II, Robert served in the Royal Navy as a Leading Telegraphist on board HMS Queen Emma, a Commando Troop Ship.

Robert died on 8 December 1947, aged 29, and is buried in a Commonwealth War Grave in Skelton and Botton (Boosbeck) Cemetery.

His name is also recorded on the Grammar School’s War Honours Board — alongside the names of all of the Grammar School’s alumni to die in the First and Second World Wars.
