Aerial Photographs
Our earliest aerial photograph dates from c.1939, and plenty have been taken since. They give a fascinating view of school and college grounds from the air, and show how the buildings and grounds - and sometimes the town as well - have changed over the decades.

Z300, Guisborough Grammar School Aerial Photograph, c.1939
This photograph was taken around 1939 and shows the Waterhouse Building and the newly opened Coverdale Block. It also shows an interesting glimpse of Guisborough, including St Nicholas' Church to the lower left.
The picture was so popular it was used for the grammar school's official Christmas cards, and we have several of these in the archive.
